How to get to Kjerag

During summer, you can get to Kjerag by taking the tourist car ferry (The Fjords) to Lysebotn and then go by car or taxi further up to Øygardstøl, the starting point of the trip.

Car or boat ?

To reach Kjerag, the preferred mode of transportation is a combination of car and boat. Start by driving from Stavanger to Lysebotn, enjoying the scenic route through Norway's picturesque landscapes. Once in Lysebotn, take a ferry that provides a unique and beautiful journey through the Lysefjord. This combination of road and ferry travel ensures a well-rounded adventure to access the trail head forKjerag.

Taxi and bus

Taxi and bus - on the way for you! ​ We have mainly based our business on taxi operation, but in recent years we have expanded our business with large buses, where we run scheduled transport, day trips, long trips at home and abroad, and in addition we have been lucky and have been involved in many buses for train transport.

We are a solid group that thrives in teams where everyone contributes and pulls the load together. We undertake most transport both in Sirdal and nearby areas. We have an agreement with patient travel on patient transport, and through Vest-Agder county council we run TT transport, school routes, scheduled transport, booked routes for trains, etc. We carry out route transport from Tonstad to Egersund as a sub-transporter for Nettbuss on behalf of Kolumbus.

We also carry out a number of tour assignments, both long-distance trips at home and abroad, day trips, shuttle buses, etc. ​

The trail to Kjerag is now certified as Norwegian Scenic Hikes.

In the summer

During summer,you can get to Kjerag by taking the tourist car ferry (The Fjords) to Lysebotn and then go by car or taxi further up to Øygardstøl, the starting point of the trip. In high season, you can also go by bus from Stavanger to Øygardstøl (GoFjords). If you have your own car, you can either take the ferry or drive through Sirdal to Lysebotn (closed road during winter from around October toMay/June, contact Statens vegvesen, phone 175).

Parking and car rental

There is parking with a fee at Øygardstøl. If you are travelling without a car, there are several options for car rentals in the region. It is possible to pick up your rentalcar at the Stavanger International Airport, Sola.
